The Adelaide Convention Centre

The Adelaide Convention Centre (ACC)—Australia’s first purpose-built Convention Centre—was the recipient of a $397M redevelopment in 2017, which saw the Centre emerge as one of the world’s most modern, flexible and technologically advanced meetings and events venue.

The host venue of the 2020 CEO & Chair Symposium, the ACC today comprises three distinct yet seamlessly integrated buildings, spanning 20,000sqm of multi-purpose space. The state-of-the-art East Building (launched August 2017) is home to the venue’s main Plenary Hall, which offers tiered seating for more than 3,000 people or 3,000sqm flat floor space for banquets and exhibitions. The pinnacle of innovation and flexibility, its combination of hinged seating, operable walls and rotating seating drums enable the Hall to be arranged into more than 15 different configurations.

The Adelaide Convention Centre’s culture of innovation is further evident in its approach to dining. The ACC prides itself on offering guests a ‘Taste of South Australia’ with 97 per cent of produce sourced locally and serves up creative, restaurant-quality cuisine. Best described as ‘feel good, whole food, made fresh’, the venue’s Honest Goodness menu philosophy has transformed the convention centre culinary experience with its emphasis on minimal intervention foods and conscious reduction of processed elements. Fresh on the heels of launching the menu, the Centre was judged ‘Australia’s Best’ banqueting and catering at the prestigious MEA Awards in April 2019.

The Adelaide Convention Centre leads the way when it comes to green credentials. Committed to sustainable practices in every aspect of its business, the venue was the world’s first convention centre to achieve EarthCheck’s coveted Platinum certification for sustainability, reflecting best practice in business and environmental sustainability.

The Adelaide Convention Centre is a striking landmark on Adelaide’s iconic Riverbank, located just 15 minutes’ drive from the Adelaide International Airport. The Adelaide Riverbank Precinct is where the city’s cultural, sporting, education, medical, conference and entertainment zones merge, making it Australia’s best-connected business events district. There are 3,500 hotel rooms within a five-minute walk from the Centre, with 6,000 rooms within the wider CBD; in addition, the Centre is easily accessible via public transport with free tram travel within the City Centre. For those looking to extend their stay, Adelaide provides a gateway to a variety of unique touring experiences and is just a stone’s throw from South Australia’s world-famous wine regions, and the unspoilt wilderness of Kangaroo Island and the Flinders Ranges.
